Digital Commerce-By Ritsuto

What is Digital Commerce?

Digital commerce (also sometimes called as E-commerce) is the process of buying and selling goods and services online through digital channels such as websites, mobile apps, social media, and other digital platforms. E.g. Amazon, Apple App Store / Google Play Store, Uber Eats or Door Dash.

What is advantage for digital commerce?

Digital commerce is very easy because you can shop from home at any time without going to a store. You can buy products from many different countries, even things that are hard to find in your town. Shopping online can sometimes feel private, because you do not have to talk to a salesperson or anyone in person. It is also fast and convenient, and you can look at many stores at once to compare prices and find the best deals. You can read reviews from other people who bought the products, which helps you decide if it is good or not. Some online stores even deliver product to your door, which saves time and energy.

What are disadvantage for digital commerce?

Even though it is easy, shopping online is not always safe. Hackers or scammers can steal your personal information, like credit card numbers or addresses. Some products from other countries might be illegal or against local laws and morals, like pirated music or other illegal downloads. This can be a problem because using them can get you in trouble with the law. You also cannot touch, try, or see products before buying, so sometimes what you get is not exactly what you expected. Shipping can take a long time, and returning products can be difficult. Running an online store can also cost a lot for the seller because of websites, delivery, and security.

Cyber Bully Reflection – Ritsuto

What is Cyber bullying?

Cyber bullying is the bullying that takes place over digital devices like cell phones, computers, and tablets.  It is repeated behavior, aimed at scaring, angering or shaming those who are targeted. For example, spreading lies about or posting embarrassing photos or videos of someone on social media is also cyberbullying. It can include sharing personal or private information about someone else causing embarrassment or humiliation. Some cyberbullying crosses the line into unlawful or criminal behavior.

Scenario

A classmate posts a clip of your friend losing in a game with the caption “L + ratio.” Replies pile on with laughing emojis. Your friend stops talking in chat.

Is this cyberbullying, digital drama, or something else? Why?

I think this is cyber bullying. It is not just joke or drama, because some one is getting hurt at online. The classmate posted a video to make fun of my friend, and then other people started laughing in the comments. That can make people upset, unhappy or really sad about it and they don’t want to be online. My friend stopped talking in the chat, so I think their feelings was really hurt. Cyber bullying is when someone is being mean or harmful to another person at online, and that is what happen here.

What is one upstander move you could try now?

One thing I can do to help is send my friend a nice message and ask if they are okay. I can also tell the person who posted the video to stop because it was not kind. This can help my friend feel better.

What would you screenshot to document the incident?

I would screenshot the video post that shows my friend losing with the words “L + ratio,” the mean comments with laughing emojis, and the usernames of the people who posted them. I would also take a screenshot of the chat showing that my friend stopped talking after the post. This can help an adult understand what happened.

Online Communication Reflection

Next time I write or share something online, I will stop and ask myself: “Would I feel good if other people saw or shared this?” This question helps me think before I post. I want others to see me as a nice and kind person. I don’t want to say something that could hurt someone or make me look mean. I also don’t want to share something that people could use to laugh at me or be rude. If I would feel sad or worried if someone showed it to others, I should not post it. Even if I think it’s just a joke, it could still hurt someone’s feelings. That’s why I need to stop and think first. Being careful with what I say online keeps me safe and helps others feel safe too. I want to be a person who makes the internet a kind and happy place.
